7 impactful awareness sessions
Addressing stigma, harassment, and social exclusion, combating gender inequality, discriminatory norms, cultural taboos, poverty, and the lack of essential services.
Impacting over 200 girls from 2 Govt. Colleges in Jaisalmer and 5 Govt. Schools (Jaisalmer, Tinwari (Jodhpur District), Kuchaman). Many adolescent girls face stigma, harassment and social exclusion during menstruation specially in the rural communities. Gender inequality, discriminatory social norms, cultural taboos, poverty and lack of basic services like toilets and sanitary products can all cause menstrual health and hygiene needs to go unmet. Under the IndiaBioscience Outreach Grant Program 2022 and 2023, The I Love Foundation, Dr. Neha Jain and The Bigger Picture NGO joined hands to spread awareness among the girls studying at the rural government schools and colleges on menstrual hygiene and health impacting rural populations.
